Northern Sun Exploration Company Inc. is a Calgary-based junior oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and exploitation of oil and gas reserves in Western Canada. Northern Sun’s goal is to generate sustainable and profitable per share growth in earnings, cash flow and reserves for shareholders by pursuing focused exploration, exploitation and development opportunities in the Corporation's initial focus areas of Grouard and the Peace River Arch Area of northwest Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan. Northern Sun is currently producing approximately 80 boepd with an additional 160 boepd being held back due to third party pipeline capacity.
Northern Sun also has a partnership with a Northwest Territories First Nation to acquire the P&NG rights to several million acres of the First Nation’s traditional land. The land has been under a resource development moratorium since 1976, and is one of the largest under explored land bases in North America, in what is considered to be an extremely oil and gas-rich basin which extends to where the proposed Mackenzie Valley pipeline will be built.
